Autumn Symposium 2024

This year’s symposium will be held at the University of Applied Sciences in Leiden (Hogeschool Leiden) and is scheduled on Friday the 22nd of November, 2024.

With our growing understanding in human disease, we are able to discover novel therapies for treatment. The discovery and development of novel drugs is a very challenging field in which (organic) chemistry plays a leading role. The KNCV-SOC teamed up with the University of Applied Sciences in Leiden to present to you a varied program on 'Drug Discovery and Development' with 8 exciting lectures from academic researchers and industry experts.

We hope to welcome you to this exciting event. Registration for the symposium is open and is free of charge.

The sub-topics and speakers can be found below. More information on the exact program will follow soon:

Paul P. Geurink (Leiden University Medical Center) - Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery
Mark de Lange (ProQR Therapeutics) - RNA-based Therapies
Nathaniel Martin (Leiden University) - Infectious Disease Drug Discovery
Elmer Maurits (iProtics) - Hematological Cancer and Auto-Immunity Treatment
Peter Timmerman (BioSynth) - Peptide Engineering Technology
Danielle Vugts (Amsterdam University Medical Center) - Radiology and Nuclear Medicine
Gerard van Westen (Leiden University) - Computational Drug Discovery
Maarten Plaum (Enzytag) – Peptide ligation
